Who we are
Counter Injustice Organization is the data controller for information collected through this site.
Counter Injustice Organization 72 Van Reipen St #353 Jersey City, NJ 07306
What we collect
- Account details — name, email address and password (stored only as a hash).
- Profile details — organisation, location, the states you work in, the issues you work on, and what you tell us about yourself.
- For attorneys, bar numbers and licensed states. Bar numbers are matters of public record; we hold them so we can verify admission and so that matching can be restricted to states where you may actually practise.
- Project applications — which roles you put your name forward for, and anything you write in the note.
What is public
Approved members appear in the member directory with the name, type, description and states on the profile. Your email address, phone number and bar numbers are not published. If you do not want to appear at all, say so and we will keep your profile unlisted.
Information about other people
If you send us details about someone else's case, do not include anything you are not authorised to share. Because no attorney–client relationship exists with us, what you send is not privileged — see the legal disclaimer.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone outside the organisation except where we must to run a campaign you have joined, or where the law requires it. We do not run advertising on this site.
Your choices
You can edit or delete your profile from your account at any time, and ask us to delete your account by writing to the address above. We keep a minimal record of closed accounts where we need it for our own legal or accounting obligations.
